This is a collection of software and resources that I have made available for everyone to use.
Everything here is provided on as as-you-find-it basis. If you find a bug or experience an issue, please feel free to contact me and let me know, but I can't promise to provide you with timely support or assistance. Please understand that this is my hobby and not my profession.
Having found that CAT remote control support for the Kenwood TS-790 is somewhat limited in other software applications, I decided to write something that was specifically designed for this radio.
This CAT control application supports all of the documented functionality, and also allows you to connect to WSJT-X (by emulating Hamlib functionality) as well as SatPC32 (using DDE).
Please note that there are still some minor bugs and quirks in this release. Some of them are due to bugs in Kenwood's own implementation of their firmware that I can't do anything about. In any case, if you do find something that doesn't work the way you expect it to, please feel free to send me a message about it.
Fixed error when selecting the COM port and baud rate.
Fixed error when displaying the log message window.
When using WSJT-X the VFO frequency boxes show the correct frequency.
When using WSJT-X the red traffic light displays correctly when transmitting.
Updated this application to work with the new version of WSJT-X and Hamlib.
Maybe you want to run WSJT-X on a different computer to the one that you are using for CAT control?
I do, so that is why I created this simple TCP repeater so that I can relay TCP traffic for applications that are hard coded to only listen on the localhost address.
To use this, start the CAT controller (above) on the remote computer first. Click on the "Enable WSJT-X" button and then launch the TCP Repeater and WSJT-X on the local computer. As a reminder, you should plug your SignaLink (or similar) device into the computer that is running WSJT-X, because that is where the audio needs to be available. The computer running the CAT control application doesn't need to have a sound card installed.
This application allows you to use your PC's sound card as a basic audio function generator.
The application supports sine waves, square waves, triangle and sawtooth, as well as white and pink noise.
New functionality added... Two-Tone Sine Wave Generator Mode and restore previous settings on restart.
This application allows you to use your PC's speech synthesizer to read out short messages.
Optionally you can save the message as an MP3 file to use in another application.
If you are running on Windows 7, the latest version will run, but you won't be able to register it due to some compatibility issues with TLS connections. Windows 10 and 11 should not pose any issues for you though.
Use this free tool to calculate the file hash for any file and optionally check the VirusTotal score to see if it is possibly a virus or malware.
You will need to register for a free API Key on VirusTotal in order to validate samples against their database.
Use this application to recursively search the specified folder and report any files that have the same contents. i.e., Files that have the same SHA256 hash value.
